Justin Velgus, an American from San Francisco. After studying in Akita, he moved to Tohoku’s largest city Sendai in 2013. After a few years of teaching English, he worked with the Fukushima government to promote sake and agricultural products overseas. Since 2019 Justin has been working at the Sendai Tourism, Convention and International Association to promote tourism experiences in and around Miyagi Prefecture through the Sendai Experience Program.
